In particular Ce.SI. is active in the following two key areas:

  • Simulation of R&M (reliability and Maintainability) behaviour of manufacturing equipment. The simulation will predict important KPIs such as system Availability, Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF), Meant Time To Repair (MTTR). This output enables the assessment of the overall system cost over its lifespan taking correctly into account the recurring costs connected to R&M issues .
  • Machine-Learning and Predictive Analytics. These technologies enable data-driven prognostics (predictive maintenance) of the machine/equipment as well as in-process quality prediction of produced parts.

The above approaches allow the optimal planning and allocation of maintenance strategies for each asset of the system to minimise operative supporting cost while maximising overall system availability, leading also to an integrated approach to zero-defect manufacturing.
